The Hounslow Pension Fund is part of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
The LGPS is one of the largest pension schemes in the UK. It is a national scheme for employees working in local government and qualifying employers who join the scheme.
Members of the Hounslow Pension Fund include staff who work for Hounslow Council, and a range of other organisations, such as schools, academies, colleges, and private companies providing services to public bodies, who have applied to be part of the fund.
At 31 March 2024 the Hounslow Pension Fund had 65 participating employers and 24,641 members. The Fund also has investments that were valued at £1.33 billion at the end of this period.
The primary purpose of the fund is to pay benefits to members.
Hounslow Council is responsible for managing the fund as the statutory administering authority. The day-to-day provision of administration service to members and employers has been delegated to our shared service partner West Yorkshire Pension Fund since August 2018.
